News maybe? OR maybe ya’ heard already:

87 Senators Tell Obama: Stand Behind Israel!

by Hillel Fendel

An overwhelming majority of the United States Senate has signed a letter to President Obama encouraging him to stand strongly behind Israel in the face of “challenges” to its international standing.

The letter, written in the midst of a continuing international onslaught against Israel in the wake of the flotilla-Gaza blockade situation, emphasizes that it is in “our national interest to support Israel at a moment when Israel faces multiple threats from Hamas in Gaza, Hizbullah in Lebanon, and the current regime in Iran.”

The missive has been signed by 87 senators, and was spearheaded by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nv) and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky).

“Israel’s opponents have developed clever diplomatic and tactical ploys to challenge its international standing,” the letter states, including “the effort to isolate Israel at the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty review conference [and] the recent effort to breach the naval blockade around Gaza… Israel’s naval blockade, which is legal under international law, allows Israel to keep dangerous goods from entering Gaza by sea.”

Well, we see Mr. ‘O’ has ears, lets pray that he listens…
…and we have this on the breastplate for the High Priest:

And I agree with this:

‘Put pressure on Hamas, not Israel’
06/24/2010 15:27

Peres tells Austrian chancellor: Terrorists now control the flotillas.
Austria should pressure Hamas to change its policy, rather than Israel, President Shimon Peres told his counterpart from Vienna on Thursday at Beit Hanassi.

“We left Gaza voluntarily and I do not understand the flotillas. In order to change the situation in Gaza, there is no need for flotillas or activists but a change in Hamas’s terrorism policy,” Peres told Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann.

On a personal note:

The Lord has really been dealing with us about gettin’ some stuff done, and to at least try a bit harder than what we already are doing, in these last days. One of those things is by trying to help persecuted followers of Jesus around the world.

I would encourage all y’all to check out, pray, and if possible try to help Open Doors (check the blogroll) for their ‘2010 Global Summer Offensive’ – if ya’ wanna know more you must take the steps…I am just here to be a ‘info agent for God’s kingdom’; a spoke to join the rim to the hub as it were…only doing (hopefully) what He leads me to. I fail almost daily , but I keep trying 😉 (normally I don’t try to promote any organization or ministry per se, but since time is short, options are nice, yes?)

Open Doors is trying to help our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world – persecuted for the name of Jesus.

Anyway, this is one organization that seems to be into some hard core missionary work. There is a tremendous opportunity to try here (and in other ministries) to reach as many lost souls before the Rapture and/or Return of Jesus (depending on your eschatology views)

Remember though, this is ONLY ONE WAY to help…. if you know of more organizations that are on the level, please feel free to let us know so we can check them out and share/help too, if possible

Consider this. When was the last time you were threatened with your life for belief and following of Jesus? Have you ever been beat up, spit on dragged by a motorcycle or car, tortured, raped, family killed in front of you – JUST for wanting to live a life following what Jesus taught – ‘Love the Lord with all your heart, mind, soul and strength and love your neighbor as yourself’? (Probably never. Me either – well, except the ‘beat up and spit on’ part… that was years ago and I forgave them).

Even if you are just getting by, like we are, in these days, please do your best to help others that are in need – not just hearer of the Word but doers too! ! Thanks 🙂
Matthew 25:40
“The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’
Do as unto the Lord, as He will repay them that lend unto Him.
