Response to email – ‘No one can know when…’

15 March, 2010

” Yes, I was wondering about that, but my question is then what does this mean – if we, as the church, are supposed to “watch and pray”…

The Parable of the Faithful Servant or Parable of the Door Keeper is a parable told by Jesus in Mark 13:34-37 and Luke 12:35-48. From Luke 12:35-48 (NRSV): (Mark is further down)

“Be dressed for action and have your lamps lit… (Holy Spirit in us burning brightly, also the ‘oil’ in the parable of the ten virgins – “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of the virgins were foolish, and five were wise. 3 When the foolish ones took their lamps, they did not take extra266 olive oil with them. 4 But the wise ones took flasks of olive oil with their lamps. 5 When the bridegroom was delayed a long time,267 they all became drowsy and fell asleep. 6 But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Look, the bridegroom is here! Come out to meet him.’ 7 Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, because our lamps are going out.’ 9 ‘No,’ they replied. ‘There won’t be enough for you and for us. Go instead to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’ 10 But while they had gone to buy it, the bridegroom arrived, and those who were ready went inside with him to the wedding banquet. Then the door was shut. 11 Later, the other virgins came too, saying, ‘Lord, lord! Let us in!’ 12 But he replied, ‘I tell you the truth, I do not know you!’ 13 Therefore stay alert, because you do not know the day or the hour” (Matthew 25:1-13). 268);

…be like those who are waiting for their master to return from the wedding banquet, so that they may open the door for him as soon as he comes and knocks. Blessed are those slaves… (talking about us I assume) …whom the master…. (Jesus) …finds ALERT (my emphasis) when he comes; truly I tell you, he will fasten his belt and have them sit down to eat, and he will come and serve them. If he comes during the middle of the night, or near dawn, and finds them so, blessed are those slaves…”

How can these slaves (us) blessed if we dont’ know around what time he’s gonna show, so,true… no will know the day or hour…but it mentions a time period…perhaps a feast – noting also that ALL the MAJOR events happening around Jesus’ life were connected with them – been studing them Jewish feasts – God’s appointment times with his people???

…‘But know this: if the owner of the house… (church still – perhaps on an individual basis now?) …had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into… (we are supposed to know that the ‘thief’ mentioned is gonna show up in that time period) You also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour.’ Peter said, ‘Lord, are you telling this parable for us or for everyone?’ And the Lord said, ‘Who then is the faithful and prudent manager whom his master will put in charge of his slaves, to give them their allowance of food at the proper time? … (Jesus is the manager) …Blessed is that slave whom his master will find at work when he arrives. Truly I tell you, he will put that one in charge of all his possessions. But if that slave says to himself, “My master is delayed in coming…

(wanted to note that I believe we are in THIS delay period also mentioned in the parable of the ten virgins – talking about the church body as a whole…see above)

…and if he begins to beat the other slaves, men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk, the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour that he does not know, and will cut him in pieces, and put him with the unfaithful….”

(so he DOES suprise some ‘Christians’!?)

“…That slave who knew what his master wanted, but did not prepare himself or do what was wanted, will receive a severe beating. But one who did not know and did what deserved a beating will receive a light beating. From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded…. (So the ones who were watching, praying and expecting are not included here, just the christians who still believe we’ll never know when… This is what God said to me: “If you don’t say anything and someone suffers, even if they still perish, their blood is on your head”. Then From Mark 13:34-37: It’s like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with an assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch. Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house (Jesus) will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows(I estimate this is Sept 2010- Rosh Hashannah, or at dawn…2011, 1st quarter? (sound like another time period to me…note that the start of festivals, sabbaths, and feasts happen over a time period starting the night before ususally, and is based on new moon cycles – so no one CAN know because it happens in a 48 hour period) …If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’ ”

Pray about this – I have been, because there is a lot at stake here, so I wanna be sure before I open mouth and insert feet There were 7 Feasts given to the hebrews. 4 have been fufilled literally and prophetically – Nisan 14 (End of March/begin April)— Passover Supper — the Last Supper Nisan 15 — (the day after Passover and lasts 7 days)The Feast of Unleavened Bread — Jesus’ Crucifixion on this day Nisan 17 — The Feast of First Fruits — Jesus Resurrectiontook place on this day Sivan 6 — The Feast of Pentecost — the Holy Spirit given on this day..these will be prophetically fufilled soon at the climax of the battle at armageddon and the ushering in of the Millenium:

– NOTE:  Jesus went to heaven before this…if he returns “..in the same manner as he went to heaven”….could be here, but I think its…

Tishri 1 (Sept 8-12) — The Feast of Trumpets — This day will be celebrated in the Millennium Kingdom. Symbolizes: 1. New Years day. 2. The day of remembrance. 3. The day of judgment. 4. The day of blowing the Shofar.

I find this news report i heard today very uncanny – U.S. decides for full withdrawal after Iraq’s election – slated for full withdrawal starting in September…)also note that its during the 9/11 anniversary.

Then… Tishri 10 (Sept 18th-) — The Day of Atonement — Jesus will be revealed as King on this day and all the earth sees him in the sky – after Armageddon (happens 7years after the Rapture, but earths days were cut short before the rapture for the sake of the elect) Tishri 15 (endSept-beginOct) — The Feast of Tabernacles – Jesus begins his millenium…

Anyways, if I’m wrong, – which may very much be true and it hasn’t happened (by 1st quarter of 2011= ‘dawn’ mentioned above) . If I’m right, we’ll know for sure:)

but this realization should help pump us up and edify us with this knowledge to continue to work as Jesus commanded – no use getting excited over nothing, right?!

ever watchful and full of hope.

hehe I’m sooo stoked just typing about this possibility in the immenent future:)

So just pray about this and see what the Holy Spirit tells you… and… about that praise and worship festival…maybe a little like Woodstock but for God!

Cheers and God Bless! ”

Hope this helps those not sure…
